More and more grandparents are finding it necessary to step in to raise their grandchildren.  Sometimes, the need for the guardianship may arise for a temporary period of time, but often, the need to care for grandchildren becomes a long-term commitment.  A grandparent’s legal rights regarding the care and custody of their grandchildren has often been a murky areas of the law.  This presentation discusses the rights of grandparents and specifically how to use the guardianship process to help your grandparent client obtain legal protection for their grandchildren.
