There’s stress in front of you, stress behind you, stress to the right of you and stress to the left, too. This uncertainty is causing all of us a lot of stress and it can affect the ethics of your relationship with your clients, opposing attorneys and the court! When you’re under stress, mistakes can happen, verbal communications can be misinterpreted, and you might have difficulty focusing on what you need to do.
So, is there anything we can do to reduce this stress? We decided to look for an expert and found a pioneer in the field of stress management, Dr. Jerry V. Teplitz. While he was originally an attorney, he changed direction and got a PhD in Holistic Health Sciences. He’s been teaching and writing about how to handle stress since 1974 and has been publishing a month blog called Healthy Alternatives for 18 years.
Dr. Teplitz wrote the book How to Relax and Enjoy…, which was one of the first books in the field before stress management was even considered a field! His latest iteration of this book is Managing Your Stress in Difficult Times: Succeeding in Times of Change. Dr. Teplitz has spoken to legal groups across the industry. He was recently inducted as a Legend of the Speaking Profession by the Veteran Speakers Network and the Canadian Society of Association Executives selected him as an “Association Excellence Speaker”.
During Dr. Teplitz’s presentation you will experience actual techniques that you can use immediately to reduce your level of stress. The chaos might continue, but you will have tools to keep yourself centered – with less stress.
- Understand the long-term impact of stress
- Experience a 2-minute technique for immediately destressing yourself
- Learn how to keep yourself positive and high energy all day long
