The Department of Health and Welfare presents information on Idaho Code §66-1305 statute from the time of proposal to the court to termination of commitment. The presentation will review state statistics, while also discussing Health and Welfare’s oversight, capacity, and current treatment options, including, Idaho Department of Corrections Maximum Security Medical Unit and the two State Hospitals. This information will be useful as a talking point for improvements in joint efforts by the Department and the legal community in serving this population.
